CME Instruction
- Review the learning objectives to determine if the content relates to your individual learning needs.

- Complete the CME Evaluation Form. Evaluation of the activity is integral to the CME process. CME certificate requests cannot be processed if the Evaluation portion is not completed.
Your answer sheet will be graded, and you will be advised if you have passed or failed. A minimum score of 80 percent correct must be obtained in order for credit to be awarded. Credit for this CME activity is available until its expiration date. There is no fee for participation. Time needed to complete this activity is estimated at no more than one hour.
Be sure to complete this CME activity on or before the expiration date. Check the CME Instructions for each case study for its expiration date. After that date, it will no longer be designated for credit. CME Registration Forms received after this date cannot be processed.
Target Audience
This activity is designed for primary care physicians who treat patients with type 2 diabetes.
Learning Objectives
After reading this case presentation and answering the accompanying questions, the participant should be able to:
- Identify risk factors for the development of diabetic nephropathy.
- List current screening methods for diabetic nephropathy and the appropriate schedule for their use in patients with type 2 diabetes.
- Describe the link between microalbuminuria and cardiovascular disease.
