Q: What other interventions should you suggest at your next visit(s)? When should you see this patient again?

A: If you did not place KM on medications for dyslipidemia and hypertension initially and decided on a trial of lifestyle interventions, you should re-evaluate her lipid status and blood pressure in about 4 to 6 weeks. Remember that patients with type 2 diabetes have more aggressive lipid and blood pressure goals (see Table 5).

When you see her again, she is due for mammography screening and possibly Papanicolaou (PAP) smear screening. You may also want to consider screening her thyroid function to make sure that this is not contributing to her fatigue.
