FAQ Search ResultsWhat is the cylindrical sculpture in front of the library?Ars Medendi (cylinder) is the title of the sculpture in front of the library. The title is Latin for "the Medical Art" and it is comprised of historic texts from world medicine. Jim Sanborn chose not to translate the texts into English and in some cases retained their non-Roman scripts. His theme of cryptic texts is also demonstrated in many of his other public works.
