I need to read an article in a foreign language. How can I get it translated?
ISI Translation Services is a commercial firm offering translation of articles.
Jeffersonians looking for a more informal service may contact the TJU Office of International Affairs for possible referrals. While Thomas Jefferson University Hospital's Patient Services office maintains a list of translators, this is primarily for conversational interpretation services.
The American Translators Association has a Delaware Valley branch with an online directory of accredited translators.
The National Research Council Canada Institute for Scientific and Technical Information, NRC-CISTI "maintains a large collection of scientific technical and medical translations including articles, conference papers, patents, reports, cover-to-cover journal translations, series and books." One can search their online catalog to see if a given article has been translated already, and order a copy.
