AISR Support for Jefferson Publishing
As part of our mission to provide the Jefferson community with leadership in scholarly communications and publishing, Academic & Instructional Support & Resources (AISR):
- Educates faculty and students about traditional and new methods of publishing and related copyright issues.
- Provides and promotes mechanisms for distributing results of Jefferson research, including the Jefferson Digital Commons.
- Influences change in publishing practices that will benefit faculty, libraries and universities.
Scott Library, a division of AISR, supports the Jefferson Digital Commons and provides regular information to faculty about publishing issues. AISR Education Services manages Jefferson Publishing for faculty-developed software. Medical Media Services provides illustrations for publication in a variety of formats, digital recording, and web conferencing.
Journal price trends are creating a crisis for academic libraries. AISR is committed to the support of alternatives to restrictive, subscription-based publication of grant-funded research.
