Our Mission

The mission of Academic & Instructional Support & Resources (AISR) is to strengthen the educational, research and clinical activities of the Jefferson community by:
  • providing knowledge-based information,
  • developing instructional technologies and content,
  • providing leadership in scholarly communications and publishing,
  • managing the University's learning infrastructure and facilities, and
  • integrating learning resources into our educational program.
To accomplish this mission AISR staff provide consultation, instruction, preservation, production and biomedical communication services.

Who We Are

AISR's departments include Scott Memorial Library, Learning Resources, Education Services, and Medical Media Services. The library also includes the University Archives and Special Collections. AISR's services are available on JEFFLINE, our integrated Web site.

Scott Memorial Library
The Library serves Thomas Jefferson University, its hospitals and affiliates. We also head a consortium of medical libraries for group purchase of databases and journals. AISR's JEFFLINE service provides special "communities" for our affiliated hospitals to access the resources they have purchased via the consortium. AISR Learning Resources
Our Learning Resources Division provides computing facilties and educational software, along with the staff to assist Jeffersonians with computing needs. Learning Resources staff also support clinical simulation and skills training. Tour Learning Resources.

AISR Education Services
Our Education Services Division works with faculty to integrate informatics instruction in the curriculum, and to provide professional development opportunities. AISR Education Services develops and publishes educational software & online courses, the JEFFLINE Forum, AISR Connections, and online tutorials. Medical Media Services
Our Media Services Division is Jefferson's in-house biomedical communication facility, providing a full range of creative, production and classroom services, including medical illustration, videography, photography and audiovisual support.
