Rotation Basics:

Grade:

  • Largely based on evaluations by attendings and residents. It is very important to have a thorough knowledge base on the case you are seeing, because attendings ask a lot of questions on this rotation. A presentation given at the end also plays a role in grading.
What books/materials/white coat supplies do you need?
  • Books are provided. Scrubs are to be worn in the OR; professional attire and white coats for clinic.
Student-suggested helpful hints:
  • Be there and get your notes done before the residents come around.
  • Presentation style matters! Be concise, be fast, and give a good surgery style presentation on rounds.
  • Surgery skills seem to matter more on ENT than on any other service - know how to tie knots and stitch!
