Provides information for members on the latest ACHE publications. Also
includes educational programs, a career resource center, discussion
forum, and "What's New" section to keep members up to date.
- American Medical Informatics
Association (AMIA)
AMIA's Web site features a calendar of events, membership information,
and organizational structure information. This site also includes abstracts
from the Association's journal JAMIA (for the years 1994-present),
and information about the Annual Symposium (formerly known as SCAMC).
- American Medical Specialty
Organization (AMSO)
A discussion forum for managed care and other health issues sponsored
by AMSO Inc., a managed care company. Provides a point for information
sharing for both professionals and interested lay people.
- Centers for Medicare
and Medicaid Services (CMS)
CMS is the reorganization of the Health Care Financing Administration
(HCFA). The agency administers both the Medicare and Medicaid programs.
The site is intended for both consumers and professionals, in addition
to providing public affairs communications and press releases. Also,
information about the State Children's Insurance Program (SCHIP), the
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA),
and the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA program) is
available.

of Health Policy (TJU)
Site includes mission statement, outlines of research and projects,
and online copies of their journal, the Health Policy Newsletter.
- IssueLab
IssueLab is a database designed to increase the visibility of research from nonprofits. Keyword search or browse 36 issue categories (including aging, health and medicine, substance abuse and recovery). Organizations can register to deposit their research and policy analysis materials including reports, white papers, fact sheets, case studies, and data sets. At last count, 90 organizations were represented.
- Joint Commission on
Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO)
The JCAHO is an independent, non-profit organization which sets standards,
evaluates, and accredits health care organizations in the United States.
- Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF)
The Kaiser Family Foundation is a non-profit, private operating foundation dedicated to providing information and analysis on health care issues to policymakers, the media, the health care community, and the general public. The main website (www.kff.org) provides complete access to the Foundation’s reports, surveys, issue briefs, charts, and fact sheets containing in-depth analysis and the public’s views on timely and critical issues such as the growing number of uninsured, Medicare, Medicaid, rising health care costs, global HIV/AIDS, racial disparities, and women’s health policy. In addition, the Foundation also operates specialized websites:

An online resource for non-partisan, timely, and in-depth coverage of health policy developments, debates, and discussions, summaries of the latest health policy, HIV/AIDS, and reproductive health press coverage; background information and resources on timely health policy issues; transcripts and live and archived webcasts of issue-based briefings, congressional hearings and other health policy events; and polling information on more than 300 health topics.

and Health Administration (OSHA)
The U. S. Department of Labor's mission is to "save lives, prevent injuries
and protect the health of American workers." These web pages include
OSHA's standards for public service, What's New, FAQs, program information
and more.
- PolicyArchive (CGS, UIPUI, CCMC)
Claims to be the nation's first comprehensive, searchable, open access, online archive of public policy research. It's a partnership of the Center for Governmental Studies, the Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis Library, and the Communications Consortium Media Center. Currently over 10,000 documents organized into 24 topics including health, which has with 27 sub-topics. Browse by topic, author, funder or publisher. With free registration, publishers can upload their own reports.
- Solucient
Solucient is a health care information company that develops and sells
management tools, market intelligence and outcomes measurement for hospitals
and other healthcare institutions. Solucient was formed by a merger
of HCIA-Sachs and HBS International.
- UCLA Center
for Health Policy Research (UCLA)
Focus is on research, public service, and education, primarily in California,
but often with a broader scope. Includes research papers, briefs and
reports.
