Biographical Note
Alonzo Hamilton Stewart was born in June of 1867 in Pennsylvania. He graduated from Jefferson Medical College in 1892 with an M.D. and from the University of Pennsylvania in 1913 with a Doctor of Public Hygiene and in 1916 with an A.B. He authored the book "Bacteriology of Milk." Stewart died February 1955.

Scope and Contents
The bulk of this collection consists of student notes from Stewart's time at Jefferson Medical College and the University of Pennsylvania. There are also notes from his time working in the University of Pennsylvania Lab of Hygiene. The notes and notebooks are organized chronologically when possible, otherwise alphabetically by subject. There are also patient records from Stewart's time at Blockley Hospital, publications by other authors, laboratory correspondence, and several ephemera.
