Fundamental Critical Care Support 2018
FCCS training prepares non-intensivists, nurses, house staff, and other critical care practitioners for the preliminary evaluation, stabilization and management of critically ill or injured patients until a transfer or expert consultation can be organized. This standardized two day course combines didactic lectures with case-based skills stations. Participants will gain knowledge and skills in: • mechanical ventilation • airway management • diagnosis and management of shock • cardiopulmonary/cerebral resuscitation • neurologic support • the diagnosis and management of life-threatening infections and metabolic disturbances. Small group stations are a hallmark of FCCS training, so space is limited! FCCS certificates are valid for four years. If you attended an FCCS course in 2014 or prior, you may need to renew your certification. This course is designed for intensivists as well as non-intensivists physicians, nurses, house staff and other critical care practitioners.
