2nd Annual Jefferson Critical Care Symposium: A Multispecialty Approach to Common ICU Diseases
The 2nd Annual Jefferson Critical Care Symposium: A Multispecialty Approach to Common ICU Diseases will address challenges faced by healthcare professionals who care for critically ill and injured patients, including critical care specialists/intensivists, emergency physicians, hospitalists, internists, general surgeons, primary care providers, nurse practitioners, physician's assistants, nurses, and respiratory therapists. The symposium will provide case based presentations focusing on common ICU problems in the areas of medical, surgical, neurologic, and cardiac critical care, as well as didactic lectures on advanced therapies. The case-based discussions will utilize an audience response system which will stimulate audience participation and interaction with the speakers. Two keynote talks will give a more global perspective on critical care practice today. Program topics have been selected based on query of past attendee suggestions, multispecialty critical care expertise input, recent guideline changes, and review of similar conferences nationally. 2nd Annual When It Takes More than Two to Make a Baby
Join us for the second Thomas Jefferson University conference designed specifically for infertility counseling sponsored by the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology in Philadelphia, PA. Clinicians are facing more challenges for infertility counseling due to advances in the assisted reproductive technologies and the associated psychological, ethical, and legal issues that accompany those advancements. The first day will introduce fundamental concepts and skills needed for the many aspects of working with individuals needing assistance to build their families. The second and third day are more advanced training drawing from "real life" cases as well as ethics training and a novel "psychology lab" (using live actors) for exploration of the inter-professional challenges associated with complex clinical cases.
