Gliffy is a free web based-tool that allows users to draw a variety of diagrams and then share them with collaborators. Gliffy runs on Mac, Linux and Windows and only requires Adobe Flash Player, which tends to be installed on most computers. All diagrams are hosted on a central server and back-ups are maintained by Gliffy.
Diagram types include: flowcharts, UMLs, networks, user interface, floor plans and technical and basic shape drawings.
Creating diagrams is as simple as dragging and dropping objects. Tools include: adding text, adding ellipses and rectangles, and a connector link tool. Color can also be added.
Once a diagram is ready to share, users can email the diagram. The recipient will receive an email with instructions on how to access the diagram. In addition, diagrams can be published online without knowing how to code. The wizard interface will create the code needed in order to embed diagram(s) in a wiki or blog.
All documents are stored in a document manager.
If you have to draw any diagrams and would like to share your ideas with collaborators, you may want to test Gliffy.
