PDA Tip:
Organizing Your Applications

With thousands of applications to available to download from sites such as palmgear.com and handango.com, organizing your applications into customized categories (like the folders on your PC) can help save you time finding the applications when you need to use them.

This month's PDA tip shows how to create and use Categories to organize your applications.

Assigning Categories:

  1. From your home screen, tap the Menu icon
  2. Select Category from the drop-down menu
  3. All of your applications will be listed with their default categories (such as Utilities or System). Tap the down arrow next to an application to display a drop-down menu list of categories.
  4. To change the current category assigned to an application, tap (to highlight) a different category in the list
  5. Tap Done to return to your home screen
Creating Custom Categories:
  1. Follow steps 1-3 of Assigning Categories
  2. From the drop-down list of categories, select Edit Categories (this is the last choice)
  3. Tap New
  4. Type the name of the new category; tap OK
  5. Tap Done to return to your home screen
Renaming Categories:
  1. Follow steps 1-3 of Assigning Categories
  2. From the drop-down list of categories, select Edit Categories (this is the last choice)
  3. Tap Rename
  4. Edit the category name; tap OK
  5. Tap Done to return to your home screen

You can view all of your categories from the drop-down menu on the upper-right hand corner of your home screen. Use this list to navigate to, and quickly access, your applications.
