AISR has set up several PDA sync stations to support the Patient Encounter Log System (PELS) developed by Jeff-IT, the JMC Dean's Office, and the Center for Research in Medical Education and Health Care. | | | The Patient Encounter Project was introduced at Jefferson Medical College in 1994 to track student's experiences during their clinical clerkships. The goal is to assure that each student encounters a diversity of appropriately supervised patient-care activities. This year, third year medical students will begin using a PDA-based program to record this information. | Data collection is managed by completing a "hot sync" session at one of the PELS Sync Stations on campus. AISR has set up several of these workstations at the locations listed below. Three manufacturer's product lines are currently supported: Palm, Handspring and Sony. Sync cables unique to each manufacturer are available at some of the computing sites below. There are also InfraRed Sync Stations that support any IR enabled device. | |
