Many thanks to all who participated in the New JEFFLINE online survey. A random drawing from all TJU responses was held and the $50 gift certificate was won by Charissa Watt, of the TJU Hospital Material Infant Units. Congratulations, Charissa!Survey respondents preferred the proposed new JEFFLINE design to the current homepage and navigation by more than three to one. Some JEFFLINE users felt so strongly about the changes that they called on the phone to talk in person. Over 80 responses have been received to-date; the survey remains online for anyone who still wishes to make comments. Comments were both encouraging and critical. Many respondents took time to write lengthy, thoughtful remarks. Some offered praise for the new Communities area, easier and more intuitive navigation, and better organization of resources. Some felt misdirected by names or layout, found the typeface too small to read, or wanted to see other types of resources included. Some addressed the way in which they seek information and what makes the most sense to them as users. The next step of the JEFFLINE update project is to incorporate changes recommended in the survey results and to do some testing of a fully fleshed-out site by representative users. Release of the new design is planned for early summer. Old and new designs will run simultaneously for several weeks to give everyone a chance to acclimate to the new system. Related Links: |
