A New Look for the University Archives Web PageIn August, the University Archives released an updated version of its Internet pages in an attempt to better serve the Jefferson community and the general public. While the site contains all the same information as its former pages, the new version has added several new sections.
Here is an overview of the new pages.
Policies and Forms
This section contains information about visiting the Archives, rights and reproduction of materials from the Archives, the Archives' reference service, and how to transfer office files to the Archives. Also included here are on-line forms for reference requests, transmittal forms for office files, reproduction request forms, and a reproduction price list.
Exhibits
Included here are on-line exhibits featuring items from collections in the University Archives. Currently on exhibit are:
- Ten Notable Jefferson Alumni
- A Brief History of Thomas Jefferson University
- A Medley of Memorabilia
Possible future exhibits include "William S. Forbes and the Anatomy Act", "Robley Dunglison and the Jefferson Connection", and "Jefferson's Famous Faculty of 1842".Genealogy Resources
Contained here is information on genealogical resources available on the Internet, sources helpful for genealogical research in Pennsylvania as well as materials in the University Archives available for researching information on Jefferson alumni.
So, visit the University Archives on-line at http://jeffline.tju.edu/SML/archives/ and see what the Archives has to offer. Archives staff would also welcome any comments or suggestions. Please forward these to University Archivist Beth Bensman at beth.bensman@mail.tju.edu.
