Welcome to Pathology!

Pathologic Aspects of Disease (CB570) is a three credit course for graduate students in the medical and life sciences. The course will cover selected topics in general and systemic pathology, providing an overview of human pathology.

You will develop an awareness of the most important disorders affecting the various organ systems of the body, and you will learn about the causes and progression of representative diseases, selected to illustrate the responses of the major organ systems to injury.

The emphasis will be on active acquisition of knowledge through independent study of the course textbook and full participation in the online course activities. Case Studies are included to provide clinical examples and stimulate visual learning. In addition, these programs link patient vignettes (case histories) with physical examination findings and clinical laboratory data (clinical-pathological correlations). It is important that you understand the clinical relevance of the major topics under discussion.
