Learning Resources: Evaluation: Course Requirements
The emphasis will be on active acquisition of knowledge through independent study of the required textbook and full participation in online class activities. The faculty will monitor your progress and provide assistance whenever needed.

Each week:

·   Complete the assigned reading (see Syllabus). The required textbook for the course is Essential Pathology by Emanuel Rubin, Lippincott, Philadelphia.
·   Attend lecture.
·   Take the Weekly Quiz (graded pass/fail, worth 20% of your grade).
·   Open the appropriate Case Studies, work through the images and captions, and complete one of the short answer essay questions. Essays submitted during the week will be posted on the Discussion Board on the following Monday. Essays will be graded on a pass/fail basis and are worth 20% of your grade.
·   Read the Clinical Vignette of the week and make a diagnosis. A histogram showing the distribution of student responses will be posted on the following Monday.

In addition to these online projects, there will be a Mid-Term and Final Examination. These written examinations will be held on campus (see below). Each test will count for 30% of your course grade (60% total). The results will be expressed as a percent. Up to fourty percentage points will be added to your grade-point-average, based on your level of participation in the computer-based learning projects listed above.

You may review your record of accomplishment in the course at any time by opening your Academic Progress Report. Final grades will be determined according to a scale that was established previously by the TJU College of Graduate Studies.
