Limits

Limits are a feature of MEDLINE (and many other databases) which allow you to focus the retrieval with additional concepts (i.e., human, English language, year of publication, age groups).

For EBM literature searching, a useful limit is publication type from which you may select:

  • clinical trials -- phases I-IV
  • controlled clinical trial
  • meta-analysis
  • multicentered study
  • randomized controlled trial

List the publication type(s) you would use to limit a literature search on drug therapy.
Can you choose more than one at a time?
