Research Buddy/Mentor Program

"Mentoring as a strategy to support
the acquisition of research concepts and skills
to improve the health of a community."
Health Academy students at South Philadelphia High School are paired with medical students at Thomas Jefferson University in a learning strategy that brings new skills to both sets of students and benefit the South Philadelphia community. A Research Buddy/ Mentor Program utilizes state-of-the-art information technology to support service learning projects with a focus on community health.
