  • Bioinformatics and Biological Computing (Weizmann Institute of Science )
    The "toolbox" deals with design and development of tools for bioinformatics, especially in the areas of molecular biology and genome analysis. A section on education includes course materials and tutorials.
  • The Dana Alliance
    An alliance of neuroscientists working together to promote the public and personal benefits of brain research. This site will help answer questions about brain-related research and provide information about new developments in that research.
  • Merck Manual: Section 14, Neurologic Disorders
    The noted Merck Manual of Diagnosis and Therapy addresses all types of neurologic disorders.
  • National Institute of Mental Health NIMH)
    Includes Consensus Conference proceedings, listing of mental health meetings and conferences, clinical studies, basic and clinical neuroscience research, genetics research and reports, Human Brain Project, intramural research programs, AIDS research, and suicide research, and grant and funding opportunities.
  • Neuroscience Gateway (Nature Pub. Group & Allen Inst. for Brain Science)
    Neuroscience Gateway is a free online resource for advanced neuroscience and genomics research.
  • The Whole Brain Atlas (Harvard University)
    A Neuroimaging Primer, containing extensive tomographic image examples and clinical case reports by Keith A. Johnson, MD.

    Select "Clinical Information" to locate clinical guidelines for Early Alzheimer's Disease: Recognition and Assessment-Overview. >
  • Alzheimer's Disease: Public Information (American Psychiatric Association)
    A source for patient information, this site provides basic diagnosis, research and coping with the disese in layperson's language. />
  • The Institute for Brain Aging and Dementia (U. of California)
    Provides basic clinical information for practitioners on Alzheimer's Disease and dementia, incuding a "medical student lecture."
  • National Cell Repository (Indiana Alzheimer Disease Center)
    Family history information and genetic material are gathered from families with histories of Alzheimer Disease (AD). Investigators from around the world request this information and material. After each project is reviewed for validity and ethical guidelines, information and genetic material are then made available to researchers.
  • The Nun Study (NIA)
    A longitudinal study of aging and Alzheimer's disease funded by the National Institute on Aging. This pilot study on aging began in 1986. It is an ongoing, one-of-a-kind resource for the study of brain diseases in the elderly. The primary research question is "What factors in early, mid, and late life increase the risk of Alzheimer's disease, and other brain diseases such as stroke?" The archives contain accurate risk factor data spanning the entire lifespan of the participants.
