BioMed Central Authors, 2004

AISR congratulates the Jefferson authors who have published in BioMed Central journals in 2004. These authors have chosen to publish in Open Access journals, so that their work is immediately available to all Internet users throughout the world, without restriction, thereby setting a good example to other researchers while gaining the widest possible audience for their work.

AISR's subscription to BioMed Central (BMC) allows authors to publish without the page charges typically levied by Open Access journals (currently about $844 per article). We're saving Jefferson some money! As more and more BMC journals are being indexed by ISI, they're showing some decent impact factors, too.

If you are interested in the citation performance of journals, please contact the Reference Desk at 215-503-8150 for recent data. Recent citation analysis shows Open Access publications receive wider distribution and earlier citations than subscription-based publications.
