Last month, Forum readers learned how searching PubMed via JEFFLINE provides access to more than 500 electronic journals exclusive to the Jefferson community. We are pleased to announce another PubMed-via-JEFFLINE enhancement that lets searchers view Scott Library’s print holdings in their search results.
How does it work?
Enter PubMed from the JEFFLINE Database Access page and perform a PubMed search as usual. Look for a blue Scott Print Collection icon in the abstract that indicates the Library subscribes to the print edition of that journal.
A new window opens showing the library's holdings for that title, the location of the journal, and a link to Thomcat, our online catalog:
If the library has both print and electronic editions of a title, both Scott Print Collection and JEFFLINE E-Journal icons will appear.
Can I limit search results to local holdings, as in an Ovid search?
Yes! Enter a PubMed search, and add AND loprovtjusmlib [filter] to the end of your search statement. Search results will be restricted to titles the library subscribes to in both print and electronic formats.
