Google, the very popular search engine, has recently added several new features.
Image Searching
The beta version of Google Image Search enable users to search and browse over 250 million digital images; 100 million more than the first index. The images appear as thumbnails, which when clicked on show the actual size of the image. Google does warn users that the images may be copyright protected and to contact the site owner to seek requisite permissions.

Date Range Search
The Google date range uses a drop-down menu to restrict searches for web pages that have been updated in the past three-months, six months, or year. Once a range has been selected, another drop-down menu will appear at the top of the results page [as seen below], enabling users to manipulate the date range without have to click back to the advanced search page.

Google Zeitgeist
The term zeitgeist is defined as "the general intellectual, moral, and cultural climate of an era." Google provides a glimpse at web zeitgeist by showing what users are searching for at Google. This is a method to track interesting trends, patterns or surprises. The information is provided on a monthly, weekly and sometimes daily basis. Users can view the top gaining queries and declining queries. In addition, users can view the most misspelled queries, as well as languages and operating systems used when interacting. Archived information is available.
