Gary Kaplan, MS

Gary Kaplan is a Senior Librarian in the Information Services department. He provides reference services at the Information Desk, via Ask A Librarian and by appointment.

Interests & Expertise

Gary is a member of the JEFFLINE Security team. Contact him for support with:

• resolution of Campus Key and other JEFFLINE access issues,
• off-campus access to JEFFLINE resources,
• bibliographic citation management software,
• APA, AMA and other style guides,
• customization of subject Web pages for your department,
• library systems to identify books and journal articles,
• evidence-based practice resources and strategies, and
• new technologies to locate, manage and share information.

Background & Training

Before coming to Jefferson in 2001, Gary worked at the Avery Architectural & Fine Arts Library at Columbia University, where he received a bachelor's degree in Philosophy. He earned his Master of Science degree in Library & Information Science at Drexel University.

Professional Activities

Gary is the webmaster for the Philadelphia Chapter of the Medical Library Association (MLA). He is on the board of Drexel's College of Information Science & Technology Alumni Association (ISTA).

Personal Interests

Gary is an avid bike commuter and support of the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia. Complete the streets!
